Or Where To Place Info Desks In A Mall?

Today I am going to tackle a problem that doesn’t involve sales-related data.

Why? Because not all Power BI reports should be about sales figures.

Problem To Solve

Let’s say that I am the owner of a popular mall here in Sydney. One of the many features of a shopping centre is those info desks or kiosks where visitors can look up a store and get directions to those stores.

Imagine if we could measure where, who and how frequently stopped to look for those info signs.

This is exactly where I got my idea for this video tutorial.

Tool To Be Used

After spending some time trying to find the best way to visualise this data I found Synoptic Panel as a custom visual and seemingly it is the perfect (and only) tool I need to use.

Not only that, but the team at OKViz was kind enough to enhance the custom visual with a “layout” designer tool as well where anyone can design their custom layout to be used.

End Result

And if you would like to learn how I created this, check out this week’s video ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡
