Part II – How To “Beautify” The Heatmap Matrix Visual in Power BI

In the previous tutorial (Part I) we have covered how to use the built-in matrix visual in Power BI to create a heatmap data visualization. It relies on the option to conditionally format the cell background colour and the font colour.

If you missed that, start by either reading the blog post or watching the video tutorial.

In this part I am going to explain my process when it comes to report beautification – if that is even a word.

Please note that the most important thing that a report should answer is the BUSINESS QUESTION !!! It doesn’t matter how nice of a background, colour choices you made if the main purpose is not fulfilled.

With that said we can focus on the data and analysis first and after that making reports nice.
